This is the Dellow Day Centre by London architects Featherstone Young. It serves as a day centre for homeless people in London, and is run by the charity Providence Row.
I love the look of this building and how much it says. It is contrary to what most people think a homeless center would or should look like. The bright color suggest perseverance, joy, and an escape from a dreary, homeless life. The building itself encourages the people who come to it to think of brighter days in the future, and to not give up on living and learning.
I love the contrast between the bright greens and yellows and the gray concrete. It’s almost as if the building is saying, “Hey, look at me!”, which is not something a homeless center would normally say via its architectural design.
Lastly, I love the fact that the building, in a sense, communicates with the headquarters of Providence Row across from it by the way it is designed. The large, horizontal mirrors going across the jagged-edge first floor point to the headquarters across the way, instead of towards the street. This is amazing, because even though the buildings are two very different buildings, they are connected through this visual communication by the mirrors and the way they are facing.
Am I?
“You arent awesome. You are farking awesome. You are a GEM”
“You’re an amazing girl..”
“You’re a great girl..”
Stop lying to me. Just tell me that I’m the worst girl ever alright? If I’m really amazing and great, no one will keep hurting me and fucking break my heart. All I wanted is someone I like to be there for me. All I did is just trying my best to get what I want. I don’t force anyone, I really don’t. I know what I deserve, I know when to give it a try, and when to give up. Why did I even listen to others? Why can’t I just listen to my heart? I should have stopped but I did not ‘cos people telling me don’t give up, give it a one last try. Now I’m a burden. Fuck my life. SO FUCKING BADLY.
PRADA x FINAL FANTASY
Wait, what? The images above appear in the latest issue of Arena Homme+ as part of the 25th Anniversary celebration of the Final Fantasy series. FF13-2 characters Lightning, Noel, Snow, Sazh and Hope are all wearing Prada gear.
They were created by Square Enix’s Visual Works studio in Japan, working alongside the Final Fantasy character designers. The magazine page feature includes “key looks” from Prada’s S/S12 men’s collection, “regarded by many as one the best of the season, with key pieces including printed silk shirts and sharp modern suiting”.
Perhaps the most bizarre video game/real life cross-over we’ve ever seen. Very nice!
